Good find, but that doesnt prove you're right and you should do some research. According to
this study after analyzing 1200 games and there being over 700 fights they resulted to 17 injuries.
There was
280 fights in the league last year (only 227 games had fights out of 1271) and we're on pace for only 238 this year.
Fighting in hockey has dropped from an average of roughly (too lazy to do the math on a phone) 650-700 fights a year peaking at 803 in 2001-02. That translates to less than 6 injuries a year (and dropping fast was more then 17 a year in 2001-02).
Could that be eliminated sure but as multiple experts have stated and having played a lot of hockey myself. This would IMO definetly translate to larger liberties being taken in other parts part of the game.
Wheter thats correct or not neither of us are qualified to make the proper decision. And im extremely happy the league has taken a hard shunning to fighting and less players are being injured in the process.
