Tiebreakers - From NHL.com
1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).
2. The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the shootout.
3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.
4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.

****ing patrick eaves returns and is immediately gifted the 1st line RW position

As opposed to who ? Sceviour ? Not exactly much of a difference there. I'd be more concerned with Horcoff on the 2nd line again

I hope Ritchie returns for Thursday's game in Ottawa.

A healthy lineup that resembles this would be nice down the stretch.

Jamie Benn - Tyler Seguin - Brett Ritchie
Erik Cole - Jason Spezza - Ales Hemsky
Antoine Roussel - Cody Eakin - Ryan Garbutt
Shawn Horcoff - Vernon Fiddler - Colton Sceviour

Scratches: Travis Moen, Curtis McKenzie

Alex Goligoski - John Klingberg
Trevor Daley - Jason Demers
Jyrki Jokipakka - Jamie Oleksiak

Scratches: Jordie Benn, Dave Schlemko

Gotta think Moen, Horcoff, Fiddler and Cole get rotated on road trips. It's unfortunate that this likely ends with Ritchie getting returned to the AHL.

I agree with that. Sceviour hasn't proven himself to get the time with Benn/Seguin.

With regards to Horcoff- worst case you bump Eakin into the 2nd LW slot and it resembles this

Code:
Jamie Benn - Tyler Seguin - Patrick Eaves
Cody Eakin - Jason Spezza - Ales Hemsky
Antoine Roussel - Vernon Fiddler - Ryan Garbutt
Travis Moen - Shawn Horcoff - Colton Sceviour

Scratches: Erik Cole, Curtis McKenzie, Brett Ritchie

But you're still left with Eaves as an eyesore on the first line.

 Like he'd get scratched.

Oh right. NHL. Go Stars I guess?

Didn't Seguin get traded for Kessel? Or was that boring thing with the weird ugly jerseys a bad dream? I can't honestly tell.

Obviously Patrick Eaves was acquired to be the 1st line RW, so that's where he'll play. You don't lose your spot to injury! Everything checks out here.

What is this fascination with putting 3rd liners on the first line with Benn and Seguin? Eaves is ok but putting him in Benn and Segun isn't going to help anyone. And Sceviour is a good 3rd liner. Let's just leave it at that. He's a terrible passer. Every time a rush develops with those 3 I get excited for a potential scoring chance...then Sceviour gets the puck and either passes it right into the opposing team or completely misses the mark and the opportunity fizzles. I'd put Hemsky or Spezza with them so they have at least 1 complete scoring line instead of fractions of 2 scoring lines.

Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing.
