It appears that we are no longer playing above our talent level. Hopefully we can find the mojo against San Jose and LA. If we don't we're going to end up bugs on a windshield.

2 losses in a row and everyone turns negative?

Yeah, the early season success of this team has raised everyone's expectations to the point of talking playoffs. It's past halfway point of the season and we really haven't had a slump. This team is in almost every game and never stops trying, and this is the first year of the rebuild so expect a roller coaster season.

The Duke didn't do anything to deserve that. Sabres are lucky Doan was our only brawler on the ice...trying his best to protect our skill guys.

It's kind of ironic this happens right after Downie and Scott are jettisoned. They probably wouldn't have been out on the ice at that point, but you wish they would have been if they were dressed.

What was that 5 game streak we had in the beginning of December? We need to flip-flop our special teams around - goals when we're on the power play and no goals when we're on the penalty kill. We're currently doing the opposite.

We are playing well and have given up 2 goals the last 2 games. If we give up 2 goals or less, we will be fine. Our PP has generated chances but not enough goals. PK needs to be better now. Overall a pretty competitive team.

Pretty much. My expectations for the season have already been shattered.

If we are still second in the division come trade deadline, my expectations may change. But as of now, I'm very happy about the season.

Hard to cheer against making it in the playoffs. As the old adage goes, anything can happen once you are in.

Still, being competitive, getting some rookies excellent experience, just missing the playoffs then WINNING the lottery is what I hope for.

Odds are against but when guys like Scott and Downie are on the roster this garbage gets filed away for the next meeting.

Good on OEL for taking a stand. He wasn't ready to let it slide.

The instant Shane Doan looks through the crowd and sees OEL fighting Ristolainen in the corner.

He then skated through that linesman hug and into said fight. I ****ing love Shane Doan.

Yup, I loved seeing that. Sadly that killed my fandom for risto, bogosian is on my hate list now too. Did anyone see how it started, the az feed showed right after but not right away. It looked like vermette was in the middle at first.

Duclair and Bogosian had hold of each other, and Duke shoved Bogo a bit in the chest. Bogosian then started throwing punches.

I thought I saw Vermette getting knocked around. It seemed like Risto may have been yapping a little bit before the main event too. Then Duke shoved Bogo and everything broke out.

So what happened to Vermette? He was right in the middle of it at the beginning, and then was on the bench when things started to cool down.

I was sitting just above the Zamboni entrance; Ristolainen shoved Vermette at the buzzer which set the whole chain off. A linesman escorted Vermette all the way to the Coyotes bench and stood there with him for quite a while making sure he didn't return to the ice...and he would have, he was pretty steamed about it.
