Considering the size of the equipment these days, I'd say it's a pretty good argument.

There were also guys who got injured like Bure, Neely, Mario.. but they also played against guys smoking 2 packs a day.. OV plays elite hockey vs Elite athletes and is successful. It's very much like any GOAT conversation in team sports vs historical results
