Hope Romy leave Cole alone. I feel he had it rough in the last month on that aspect lol.
I saw him get elbowed in the head twice during the last game vs the Preds. He will continue to get more attention as he continues to score. Longevity in this league will depend on him having someone on his line that will discourage competitors from taking liberties. One of the reasons that Ovi has been able to last this long and have so much success is because of his size and physical style of play. Opposing teams target goal scorers.

Sadly Habs have only 1 player that plays physical. Isles have more.
We have players who can play physical in addition to Arber — like Edmundson and Power Donkey but the latter two don’t seem to do it often.

Power donkey is damaged goods. He is nowhere near the player he was when the Jackets beat the Leafs in the first covid tourney. They cut ties with him because he was damaged just like the Preds did witk Weber. MB bit like a starving fish and signed him to a long deal. He is a bigger version of what Gallagher has become.

Xhekaj and Harris were inspired by Subban last game.

X with a couple of heavy hits.

Harris getting on his horse and skating out of the zone with the puck instead of trying to pass/clear from the goal line. Take a look at Armia and the other slow ass vets when he does it they are forced to hustle up the ice and give some effort.

Toughness is a team concept.

When the team is tight and passengers are not tolerated you are more inclined to go for it.

When the team is in tank mode and full of passengers, you throw a hit get mobbed and stop doing it.

He was scoring lots goals in his first season with us and he still skates fast unlike Gallagher. But he's been a bust for the past 2 seasons now.

That was a dirty hit and he deserved to get mobbed for it, what are you even talking about? Ramming a guys chin into the boards from behind has very little to do with team toughness, it is a cowardly act and has no place in the game. JA has been terrible this year, they have tried him with different linemates and he doesn't seem to be a good fit with any of them. He needs to go but it will not be easy to move on from him thanks to the deal he was given.

He was more effective when he had a physical element to his game, he was our Tom Wilson but he can't do it anymore hence his decline. He is very similar to Gallagher in that regard.

I don't think he's converted on a single breakaway, his speed still gets chances but his brain is like a million times too slow to keep up with his speed. Gallagher isn't an NHLer, Anderson is still a middle 6 player.

I'm talking about the team vibe and compete level not the legality of a check.

JA is our forward with the most hits this year.

Team is soft overall it's tourist town this year. Put him on the Bruins I guarentee he's 2021 playoffs Anderson again.

It was a joyous homecoming for PK Subban on Thursday, as a pre-game ceremony was held in his honor at the Bell Centre.

True to himself, Subban riled up a vociferous and appreciative crowd that was hell-bent on letting Subban know how much he was missed. It's as if there was some kind of collective healing going on, with fans not having gotten over the trade that led to his departure.

And of course, Subban's heightened sense of the dramatic, punctuated his address to the fans, when Carey Price joined him in the long awaited performance of a ritual that had been a mythical remembrance, given how it was prohibited by then head coach Michou.

There was so much intensity following Subban's address to the crowd, including inspirational words directed at the team's current players, that it probably lifted the team toward its 4-3 win over the Preds.

Since Subban leaves no one indifferent, it's not surprising to have seen a throng of media people hounding him after the game.

Even a seasoned beat reporter like Mapper, who is normally composed and detached, appeared to exhibit a dreamy gaze. And it caused the likes of Chantal Machabée, to forget that she no longer has a media job.

Of note, Subban was not wearing a Habs jersey during his ceremony. He also mentioned that he is still in good shape and training. Which makes for an intriguing poll question.

Speaking of the media, is there any one more controversial and clueless, than Norman Flynn?

Flynn who somehow continues to act as a pundit on RDS and on BPM sports radio, came up with yet another of his outlandish trade proposals:

eB5Z8RW.gif

It apparently wasn't enough for him after getting lambasted for suggesting that Nick Suzuki should have been traded for Wayne Simmonds, or how Cole Caufield should have been swapped for Kyle Palmieri.

How Flynn continues to have a job in media is beyond comprehension as he's become a parody unto himself. There isn't a time when he's mentioned without getting showered with ridicule.

Clearly, he's in the wrong job. This, is more likely where he belongs:

Inspired by @Milhouse40 who used a pic from the above movie in relation to Flynn. Thank-you!

Or, if you prefer ...

If you thought Flynn was an irritant, there is more than enough elbowing taking place on the Habs forum as we're seeing more and more posters fear that the Habs' fortunes may become tainted on account of individuals who post jinx-style content. Luckily, a solution is in sight.

If anyone guarantees that the Habs will draft a particular player, or finish in a particular drafting spot or if they post a thread title that emits too favorable a take on a future uncertain event that is out of the hands of the Habs, then this newly created unit will be sent to their house and confiscate the devices used to spew such jinx material.

The Squad does not only confiscate a jinxer's devices. It performs a little ritual with them, in the middle of street right in front of the jinxer's home, in full view of his neighbors.

Here's a pic of a recent intervention. The Squad ran over the jinxer's devices in what is certainly the ultimate dissuasive jinxing remedy.

The Squad's services are not limited to a particular brand or model ...

Yeah jinxer, go ahead -- you try and call the cops now!

Better still, please don't jinx it for those who have superstitions about such things.

In those same threads where jinxing is taking place, you can always find the Habs' forum Posting Ninja crunching up probabilities on those game outcomes that favor a better draft pick for the Habs. He has been criticized for his over-zealousness by some posters (hey, you can't win them all) however he remains undeterred. He's gone so far as publishing a book about his strategies.

@Adam Michaels -- thanks for being a good sport. I greatly appreciate your contributions to this forum and doing memes involving you is my way of paying homage. Kudos for all you do! ;)

Did you know that further to recent advancements in technology, it is now possible to use identifier scanning apps on human beings?

A test was recently conducted on Dadonov involving an identifier app. See the results for yourself!

The same QR code?!? What a coincidence!

We also experimented with a different type of identifier app using Mike Hoffman as a subject. The app reads a human face and generates an accurate corresponding image.

Hoffman is currently in Marty's doghouse, having been a healthy scratch in 3 of the last 4 games. Would this app be able to tell?

Back to the Predators game, Arber got into fisticuffs with a heavyweight and dominated him. Bell Centre DJ played a song for the Sheriff during his bout. Not surprisingly, it was this ...

Habs are flying to NY for a short road trip. They'll be facing the Isles on Saturday and the Rangers on Sunday.

For the Isles game, there will be a pre-game ceremony to honor Mike Bossy.

If they want out, why would they risk an injury?
Who says they want out? The rumour mill has been about other teams inquiring.

If someone is willing to bite, he needs to go.
As long as grit, size and speed can be added via other means or perhaps groomed from mid to late round picks that fit the prototype.

If both Eddy and Power Donkey get dealt, this becomes that much more of a softer team. We need to optimize asset mix, certainly Gorton knows that from his Ranger days.

The “swarm” team toughness thing has been tried before, you can’t send flyweights to do the job of gritty guys with size and speed. It remains a physical sport and excesses and liberties taken are on display every week.

It becomes even more so in the playoffs.

Fact is, you need those types of guys but they don’t have to be unskilled either — that’s where your scouting and development come in handy.
