After starting the season on a three game road trip, that didn't end well, the Kraken are playing their first game at home against a common foe.
They'll host the former stanley cup champions Colorado Avalanche who had their title hopes ended by the Kraken in game seven of round one last season.

Therefore the Avs will certainly try to get some revenge on the Kraken and will be highly motivated to win this one.

The Kraken therefore must bring their A-Game and hopefully a better plan on how to score goals.

This should be an interesting one.

The Kraken will need to be ready from the start because Colorado is certainly out there to try and prove a point after losing to Seattle in last years playoffs.
The hit by Eberle will certainly be on their minds as well, so the team needs to be able to give it their best effort in order to have a chance.

Anyways, let's enjoy another season opener and Kraken hockey for season three.

One would think the Avs will definitely bring it after last year's playoffs but this is also the perfect moment to re-launch the season and put that early road trip out of their minds. If they lose it'll be all doom and gloom I imagine. So in a way, pivotal game.

I know people have been making a big deal about Sprong and Donato but we might be missing the contributions of all the players not on the roster like Geekie and Soucy.

This team is simply not as good as last year's .
