Our D is mediocre (to put it bluntly)...but in the last two games the forwards have done very little to support the D and goaltending..There's constant missed assignments by the forwards ,leaving the D completely vulnerable, and the goalie into a shooting gallery.

As the D are the last line of defence, they are constantly crapped on...The disconnect between the forwards and D is real..In the transition game up ice,and in the defensive end.

the d are likely to rapidly lose confidence if things continue. they don't have a lot to build on to begin with and markstrom letting in goals 40 seconds into the game does not help. if he does it again, we will see a blow out i think.

It's not the forwards, its the Horvat Boeser line pretty much exclusively. The only minus forwards on our team right now are Horvat, Boeser, and the two wingers that have flanked them, Baertchi and Leipsic. That forward line is always a disaster in our own zone, and with Brock playing like crap to start the year, they aren't much better on the other side of the ice either.

Altho the +/- stats are true i dont blame them for the goals against for the most part. For what ever reason Coach Green forces them with the GudPoo pairing, like almost EVERY TIME. Thats part a why BoBoeser are struggling, tho not the main reason imo

Nilsson...

Step 1... save the first shot you see tonight.
Steps 2-5... save the next shot.

That should take us to the 5 minute mark, right?

If Nilsson doesn't let in a goal in the first 5 minutes, he should be promoted to be the #1.... until he lets in a goal in the first 5 mins.

This is the kind of game the Canucks always used to lose back when they were good... out of conference games vs bottom feeders.

But, TB isn’t Vancouver, so...

5-1 TB

We will sneak up on one of these teams eventually.
Reverse Backup goalie effect?

Motte skates a lot and retrieves all the pucks and passes them to Boeser.

Yikes, things aren't looking so good for Liepsic here. Not sure how Motte goes from healthy scratch to Horvat's line but best of luck to him.

I will gain so much respect for Green and this whole new idea of "sitting veterans" if Pouliot is ever forced out of the lineup.

Pouliot isn't really a vet though, it's more like he's part of the old Portland crew. They should take the Jimmy Pattison car lot model from way back, lowest sales guy every month got whacked but in this case between the underlying stats and any direct, tangible impact on goals scored and those given up, the worst performing defenseman not named Tanev and Edler gets sat the next game even if they won.

Whoever plays goal tonight will get crucified. More red lights than Amsterdam.
