Welcome back Jakob!
Thank you for Daniil But

Series Notes:
The Coyotes/Jets 1.0 hold a 22-19-2-2 record all-time versus the Senators.
Last year the teams split the season series, each winning in a blowout (6-2 Sens in Ottawa and 8-5 Coyotes in Arizona). The Coyotes win featured a 7(!) point game from Nick Schmaltz, who's looking to get back on track as he has 0 points in his last 6.

Game Notes:
So much for the Senators being a competitor for the playoffs this year. Entering tonights game, the Senators currently sit dead-last in the Eastern Conference, only ahead of the Blackhawks and Sharks in the whole league. The slow start couldn't be tolerated any longer as the Senators fired coach D.J. Smith and brought back Jacques Martin.

Projected Lineups and Starting Goalies:
Keller - Kerfoot - Schmaltz
Maccelli - Bjugstad - Crouse
Carcone - McBain - Zucker
Sanford - Cooley - O'Brien
Moser - Dumba
Valimaki - Stecher
Dermott - Kesselring

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Batherson
Tarasenko - Norris - Giroux
Kubalik - Greig - Crookshank
Smejkal - Kastelic - Kelly
Sanderson - Zub
Chychrun - Bernard-Docker
Brannstrom - Hamonic

Perfect timing with the Sens' coaching change. And the new coach has a much better hockey name, so I don't see how anyone beats the Sens going forward.

We should do a tribute on the main screen before the game and then give him an O'Brien hello.

Haven't had power in 30 hours, office didn't have power yesterday. Hanging on by a thread but made it to Starbucks to post the GDT.

Anywho, Yotes 5-2. Sens still a mess defensively, no coach can put together a comprehensive game plan that fast. Carcone, Moser, Keller x2, Crouse (PP)

In Maine? Must be cold. Hopefully, you have a wood stove.

Players will play harder now, they always do under a new coach first game.

I hope Chychrun's unkind words regarding wanting to play for a winning team that can make the playoffs are still lingering in the back of some of our core player's mind's tonight.

Chych spoke in great detail about his Arizona experience and memories in Craig’s article. Yet made no reference of the fans. Should there at least be a an overused cliche sentence “I really appreciated the fans…..”. Blah blah blah?

Think it speaks to his vanity. Glad BA was able to find a hole for him outside of AZ.

Since the Sens aren't likely to make the playoffs, I wonder if we could get JC with a couple of 2nds?
He has 21P in 26GP. If OTT thought he was part of the problem they could get a lot more than that.

Besides, the article sounds like he misses AZ but absolutely loves his current situation with OTT.

Are you saying that he prefers just to play during the regular season and then have that extra time off instead of playing in the playoffs?

Chychrun was much better about leaving than Turris was. Even after the trade demands became public the guy didn't take a night off. I respect him for that. He wanted to do what was best for his career. Can't blame him. We all want to do what's best for our careers.
