Like Ottawa the Rangers are playing out of town the day before this game. Hopefully a tough game against the Bruins. Puck drop in about 30 minutes.

Keys to the game

- normal minutes for Kes and the Sedins
- breakup the Garrison Edler pairing
- move garrison back to the left side

Based on last game I think the starting lines will be.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - Kassian
Higgins - Santorelli - Weise
Sestito - Richardson - Hansen

Depending on the play Kassian, Weise, and Hansen will shift through the lines.

I hope they leave Booth with Santorelli.

Some articles on the return of Tortorella to NYC and comparisons to AV.

Tortorella Returns, Relentless as Ever
“I was going for a different voice, a different methodology,†Gillis said of his decision to hire Tortorella.

A statistical look at the Canucks and Rangers after trading coaches
It is one of the more remarkable trades in the history of hockey, even if it was not, technically speaking, a trade.

Last spring, after playoff failings, John Tortorella was jettisoned from the New York Rangers and landed as head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, and Alain Vigneault was fired from the Vancouver Canucks and found work as head coach of the New York Rangers.

The swap – as the rosters of the hockey teams remained basically the same – presented this season as a rare live experiment in coaching styles.

There have not been revelations. The only striking conclusion is the trade of bench bosses does not seem to have done much at all, which suggests all the ballyhooed hirings and firings are overstated in their importance.

An Open Letter to John Tortorella Welcoming Him Back to Madison Square Garden

Dear Mr. Tortorella,

On behalf of New York Rangers fans everywhere, the local media corps and all of those TV people that have to beep out curse words during press conferences, I would like to warmly welcome you back to Madison Square Garden on Saturday.

A good time to start piling up some wins in a row. NY should be tired after playing the Bruins today. The Canucks need to start making a move to get back in the playoff race.

Wouldn't mind a scoreboard repeat of our pre-season game against NYR.

Although hilariously, Tortorella thought the Canucks played lousy (somewhat true), and Vigneault thought it was one of the Rangers' stronger games (that's stretching it...)

Holy crap, looking at the West standings is depressing. Right now Minnesota has the 2nd wild card spot, and they're on pace for a 107 point season. That's freakin' ridiculous. A full 10-12 points higher than the usual playoff cut off.

I expect it to come down, but we're likely looking at 98-100 points as the playoff line in the West this year.

I don't know why, but when I look at the magazine Gillis is reading for some reason my mind doesn't read the word "suits" properly. Had to do a double take on that one...

The Rangers are hanging onto the final play-off spot with 26 points in the East.

The Canucks sit in 9th in the West with 31 points which would have them tied with Detroit for fourth in the East.

The Rangers would be sitting 12th in the West tied with Dallas.

Any chance that the Canucks can be moved to the East?

Not a surprise as you have exhibited similar comprehension problems on a regular basis when discussing Luongo. ;)
