Was Montreal the better team tonight,No! Did Seattle have some hard Luck,Yes. Will the Kraken be better the next time these teams meet, you can bet on it. One good thing, actually two good things,Wright gets his gorilla off his back and the PK looked dam good. I'd also look for an explosion of goals from the Kraken over the next while. They peppered the Montreal goalie pretty well and had the most sustained pressure by far

Wright gets all of 11:12 of ice time despite what looked to me like a solid offensive game (3 shots on goal, total, and almost a gorgeous assist).

Wright should’ve absolutely played more than 10mins tonight. The kid was the most decisive he’s been all year; and clearly felt confident following his cv stint and eager to take it MTL — only to have Hakstol give him pity shifts halfway thru the game.

Brutal. Believe in the kid for a night… especially tonight. Let him play. Especially the way some of our other forwards played tonight

He played 11:12. That’s plenty of time for a kid with 7 games of experience. I do t think he was getting pity shifts. Hakstol doesn’t seem the type of dude who has a lot of pity at all.

Well, we've not been good defensively for some time and we're now being punished for it.
Goaltending has also gotten back closer to where we were last year with no one being above .900 and that's not just on the goalies.

Will be interesting to see how the team responds, especially since we're now headed east to a four game road swing including the Caps, Panthers, Lightning and Hurricanes.

Jones wasn't really why we lost. the first goal was on him. The rest was poor defense and offense being awol. The 3rd should never had happened odd man rush right off the faceoff... I mean come on.

I am not even going to say the first goal was super soft, despite how it initially looked. The puck was flipping end over end and it was deflected/redirected and it was a sinker, that is a really difficult shot to read.

The faceoff miscue was a team communication breakdown, despite Nick O. pinning it on Borgen. Borgen stepped up to play the puck and the forward on the wall did not get by him, despite what Nick O. said. Had Borgen backed off, it was a guaranteed 3 on 2 so I feel Borgen made the right play there. The center and left wing were cheating trying to generate an odd man rush the other way and should not have been on the other side of the redline. I won't pin that on one player, as I think the whole unit was not on the same page.

Honestly, it was mostly a pretty well played game with a couple of monumental breakdowns that left Jones in a couple of impossible situations.

One of those games that the team hopefully can learn from and not overly dwell on.

He'll get more as he picks up the game more. I think Morgan Geekie must be nervous cause he's obviously going to be moved. Either he will or Ryan Donato

I wouldnt mind moving Donato at the TDL. I would think he would have some value with the years hes been having, maybe more at 50% retention or something? Only a 1 year deal.

The difference wasn't entirely down to goaltending (better for them, worse for us) but it did factor in and I just have this sort of feeling that Jones is slipping back to being Jones and not the above average guy that started the season. Could be a problem. Team played well enough to win, but there was some back luck involved too.

Good to see Wright score. I see great potential but he's too tentative imo. Too afraid to make a mistake so he hesitates and that creates a missed opportunity or even an error. They have to find a way to get him to loosen up and be less afraid of making an error. Just play his game and keep learning. That's on the coaches.

That faceoff was so 2021, lol. Forwards skating off without the puck. 3 on 2 is better than a 2 on 1, but everyone shares the blame.

Very different roles.

I don't think Geekie has anything to fear in terms of in-house replacements in the near future. The chance of Francis going outside the organization to bring in a center that is a defensive specialist for the PK is another story though, but given the cap situation, I would not expect a move like that before the deadline.
