I think it will be a hard practice today, optional skate on Saturday. I have a feeling that the boys realising that they let a very good chance to catch up to Tampa slip by their fingers - rectify this. (we would have been second today).

the key will be - don't take too many penalties, and shut down Ovie (which is given).

I would put Holland on the 1st line IF Bozak isn't ready to go.
if he is... does smith sit? He's playing very well. Smithson can take faceoffs and I think that's still sorely needed. that's going to be the kicker.


One of Gardiner, Rielly, Franson or Ranger is going to sit out if Fraser is ready - and I feel that it's going to be Rielly (though I truly think it SHOULD be Franson. Ranger's probably not going to sit out ever). Rielly sitting out doesn't bother me, only because Kaberle (the last defenseive rookie we had) sat out 15 games (in 5 block stints) when he was first being brought up.

I think at this time - i'd at least TRY putting Rielly & Phaneuf together.
put Gunnarson and Gardiner? together
Franson & Fraser and rotate Ranger as the 7th? (I think that's right).

Washington tends to blow us out in half their games versus us. Especially with the fact that you have a former Maple Leaf in Grabovski, who probably will play his hardest on Saturday.

After the lost against Nashville yesturday, I really don't know what to make about this team.

as much I would hate to see another Leafs loss, I liked Grabo as a player, so a payback for Randy Caryl stupidity is due for sure. Randy has not been a good coach when it comes to realizing certain players potentials. If it wasn't for our goalies, we would be below Buffalo in the standings. That my two cents, I hope we don't lose more players due to
RCs hard ass, coaching style.
