Honestly, I think we would have to get lucky and have someone else take Chicago out if we want to win the Cup.
Came close to that last year if the Red Wings would have eliminated the Hawks, but that is probably not a good strategy. Better to be able to beat the Hawks more than 50% in the regular season, including a win at United Center.
We were two points away, one win instead of one loss, from home ice against the Kings last year. That made the difference between being eliminated or going onto the next round (that and NHL Department of Player Safety).
This Hawks game will be one of those one win games that wasn't when we count home ice advantage this year.
What makes the loss hard to swallow was the mental errors that lead to the first 3 Hawks goals, and not physical errors due to road fatigue that everyone is gracefully blaming.
