I don’t get where your confusion comes from

Kotka is benched when not injured, Domi is a winger playing center, Danault is not a #1 center on a contender, Suzuki is either playing on the wing or centering the 4th line so we're not developing him properly and will never know what his potential is if that persists and Thompson should be on the 4th line. So we have lots of people out of position and on the wrong line and still don't have a true #1 center.
