I don't think Cassidy publicly criticized players as much as seems to have become generally believed. In his first years in charge here it almost never happened, and I think it was only in the last season, and maybe a little before, that it started to become any sort of issue. Cassidy jumped the shark when he called out Swayman in a loss that was anything but his fault, and there's no doubt that around that time he lost some perspective and I think was letting the pressure get to him, but otherwise it just doesn't strike me that he was especially hard on his players.

Nonetheless he says he's learnt some lessons from at the end of his time in Boston, so we'll see if he behaves differently in Vegas.
Well you also have the issue of DeBrusk and Krejci.

I'm not saying Cassidy was perfect by any means. All coaches have their flaws, and Bruce had his. It took too long for he and DeBrusk to sort themselves out, although they did get there in the end, or close to it. I just think some of the rhetoric around him is a bit overblown - the Krejci matter is a good example. Krech said nothing more than that he would have liked more playing time with Pasta. Which is a fair comment, but that's it. Cassidy had nothing to do with David going to Czechia for a year, and whether or not Butch leaving had any part in him returning is pure speculation. So not a big deal to me.

Trust me, the rhetoric was not overblown. If anything, the press downplayed it because they loved Cassidy's soundbites.

It would clearly be Ullmark if it's 4 months from now and he somehow kept the same pace and the Bruins had like 110 points with 10 games to go
I don't see how a guy who was signed to be a starting goalie and is playing like a starting goalie fits the criteria.

I would think either Foligno or Clifton would be the lock for 7th player IMO. Clifton has always been a #6/bubble guy and has shown a lot more this year. Foligno you could argue is just playing to his contract finally (like Ullmark), but with how cooked he looked last year his comeback makes him a valid choice IMO.

I was going to but I chickened out.

Hold on a minute… you got a harness??
My daughter and I went to Vegas for the first Bs game there. She had been there for business conventions a couple of times before.

She loved jumping off that tower so we went so I could WATCH her. When she came back with her ticket, I asked her where I could stand to watch and she said, "Oh No YOU are jumping too". I was in my 60s. Maybe she was trying to kill me off. I would not do it again. The first picture is me. My daughter thought it was funny. She was pretty proud of herself for making me do it.

I can’t think of where else to put this, so I’ll put it here.

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine last night and he raised the concern that the Bruins are peaking too early in the season.

I snapped.

“Would you rather they LOSE some of these games? Don’t you want them to WIN every time they step on the ice? I know I do. If I had my way, they would go 82-0 in the regular season and win every game by 10 goals. They would then march through the playoffs 16-0 and annihilate all comers. I want my team to win. All the time. What would make YOU happy, brother? Serious question…”

As my old man used to say; some people would complain if their ice cream was cold.

I’ve never been happier this early in the season.

Thanks for listening.

Well its been a fun ride so far this year but I now face the biggest challenge of my life. Open Heart surgury this Thursday to replace aortic valve and a large piece of my Aorta. I pray that wasnt the last game I ever watch but I have a great surgical team lined up at Toronto General so hopefully I will be able to watch and join in the conversations sometime after a couple of weeks recovery.
@Kovi and I will be thinking of you on Thursday and sending you (and your doctors) all the best healing energy.

The past couple of seasons, the regular season to me was pretty boring. I hated the turn the other cheek mentality and the robot hockey. It was successful, so shame on me I guess, but it was boring. Montgomery encourages these guys to stand up for one another, first and foremost. Do what you need, we got your back we will kill the penalty. He also wants to score some goals, and wants them to throw some hits...being out of position sometimes isn't the offense it was once here.
I'm with you about being frustrated about the turn the other cheek mentality and robot hockey being boring, even if it had some success

Add to that, the coach throwing certain players under the bus after losses and putting some players on very short leashes resulting in disgruntled players wanting to be traded, must've caused some dissension in the locker room....and could only be fixed by firing the coach

Kudos to management for addressing this problem, and then hiring a very good coach who's turned this team into a cohesive unit wanting to play their best hockey and having each other's backs

It's been fun watching this new edition of the Boston Bruins

I’ve been in Vegas for a week watching the boys put on a clinic at the sports book.

Looking forward to getting back in the GDTs once I’m back!

Damn I think I know which casino youre at. Cant remember the name tho. They always had events for sport booking. If u like Italian hit up Italian American club was one of Sinatras favorites.

I had no intention of doing it. My daughter went to get her ticket and bought me one too. She said, "you are not afraid of heights". I have since told her not to assume anything. I am too old and don't even do rollercoasters anymore.

What are your credentials for that trust? I mean, I like you as a poster here, but if you're going to make a claim based on 'trust', then, with all due respect, why should I?
