To reiterate this:

In a stunning move Friday afternoon, the Washington Nationals announced they have parted ways with manager Dusty Baker. Winner of consecutive National League East titles, two heartbreaking Game 5 losses in the NL Divisional Series, along with his expiring contract, sees the Lerner family decide to move the Nats in a different direction.

John Farrell is out as Red Sox manager, the team announced Wednesday morning in a press release.
Farrell, 55, won 97 games and the World Series in 2013, his first year as Red Sox manager. It was a worst-to-first maneuver. The Red Sox rebounded to win 93 games and the AL East in each of the past two seasons, but were bounced from the ALDS, winning just one game out of seven in the two years combined.

Joe Girardi out as manager of New York Yankees.b The retired Yankees’ catcher became the Bombers’ manager in 2008, won the World Series in 2009, captured three AL East titles, made it to the postseason five times, never did worse than post 84 wins in a season. This season a young New York team stalked the Red Sox, finished with 91 wins, made the playoffs, and nearly toppled the heavily favored Houston Astros before succumbing in Game 7 of the AL Championship Series. During Girardi’s term as manager, the Yankees led the majors with 910 regular-season wins. And many considered his work in 2017 to be the finest of Girardi’s career.

This is a business, staying with the same 'ol, same 'ol, is just treading water...

We had a saying in the fire department, if you reported that you were "holding the fire," then you were losing property and possibly lives.

This was on Yahoo business a few weeks ago. I completely agree.

No it isn’t.

Darryl Sutter wins two Stanley Cups in three years with LA and then gets fired two years later.... why?

In a pro sports league if you don’t win you don’t stay. Past history and win/loss records don’t mean crap. Tippett rode the WCF coattail for four years and the team got worse every year.... not better. So what is the excuse then... players?? He had decision power there to the point where it got Don Maloney fired.

You don't get it and never will. :banghead:

Actually Jakey you’re the one who really doesn’t. I said it before I liked Dave Tippett but this team is going in a direction that doesn’t fit with the way he coaches.

That’s the part you and a few others have difficulty understanding and would rather makes excuses for it rather than just accepting the facts for what they are.
