Roster Report: With winger Alexandre Texier (knee) and defenseman Ryan Murray (hand) going on injured reserve Monday, the Blue Jackets will likely see Jakob Lilja and Markus Nutivaara return to the lineup. Obviously the Oilers are a one-line team. That and they can wreck on the PP. If the Jackets can stay out of the box and play well defensively I like their chances. Some teams have managed to smother McDavid-Draisaitl lately.

Who do we want matched up against McDavid-Draisaitl?

Foligno-Jenner-Anderson would have been the obvious answer a year ago, but Foligno is up the lineup, and Jenner and Anderson are looking slow right now. Wennberg is looking quicker, but I don't think Nyquist - Wennberg - Bjorkstrand has the design of a shutdown unit, not enough brawn. Maybe if you put Foligno back on that line.

I was in Detroit yesterday (God why have you forsaken me?) and caught the Oilers vs. Wings game. Little Caesars Arena is an amazing venue. If you ever go and sit in the upper deck, don't sit higher than row 6 if you are sitting between the goal lines (or 7 was it?) of the 11 rows up there. They have "gondola" premium seating which cuts off the jumbo tron-but they do have small screens one can see. The view of the arena from row 7 or 8 on up is obscured is well. Park for free in the Motor City Casino and you'll get a good 1 mile walk and your life will pass before your eyes on the way there. The way back not so much due to heavy traffic leaving the arena.

McDavid and Draisatl combined for a pretty goal last night but were off of their games. Neither of them were crisp with their passing often times and Draisatl wasn't handling passes well. I'd imagine that both of them will be fired up for tonight's contest. Obviously containing them is key, but if they're "on", they will put up points regardless of match ups-they are that good.

Other than James Neal, Gagner and Nugent Hopkins, the other Edmonton forwards are abysmal. Kassian has 8 points, but it would be hard to have less with all the time he plays with the two mega stars. The Edmonton defense is not really good with transition passing except for Klefbom and Nurse. Koskinen was very sharp or Detroit would have scored more. I'd imagine that Smith would get the nod tonight due to BTB road games.

Interesting fact. Edmonton had no Americans on their roster for last night's game.

I love these games, both fanbases predict blowout losses for their team. We looked atrocious last night, and it is hard to fathom we will see a similar performance if they have any pride at all.

Not impossible... but hard.

Let's just hope for no injuries!

Could be wrong but seems like Kassian always somehow pots one on us.

Sitting 3 rows behind their bench tonight.. drunk Oilers lady has already spilled her beer on a CBJ fan

Should be an entertaining game one way or another I guess

You guys destroyed us in both games we played last year, and that roster was better than this one.

Mike Smith is our boogeyman

5-1 Oilers

My soothing spirit enhanced by 100gr vodka is telling me that its going to be alright. Lets go Jackets.
