The wait is over and the Kraken will head into season two of their existence with a visit to a divisional rival.
The start of the 2022-23 season will see us heading to Anaheim to play the young Ducks who'll be excited to get their season started, just like us.

It will be the start of the first full season for Matty Beniers, who has looked fantastic since joining the team at the end of last season and looks to take another step in his development.
Not just that, this game should also the the very first one for Shane Wright, who'll be one of a few kids of this years draft to start the season in the NHL.

On top of that both Brandon Tanev and Jaden Schwartz could be back in the lineup which would give us a boost at the forward spots, whiele Philipp Grubauer looks to rebound from his worst season as an NHL goalie.

3 Keys to the game

1) Goaltending

Grubi has looked solid during preseason and hopefully will be able to carry this over into the regular season.
If this team wants to go anyhwere and win more games than last season, it starts and ends with Grubauer and him bouncing back from last years nightmare.

2) Score a goal(or two, three....you get the picutre)
In order to help oursvelves putting the puck in the net a bit more often would help as this would mean we might play a bit more with a lead which puts pressure on the opponent and opens up things offensively.

3) Move the puck efficiantly
The Ducks might not be great and possibly a bottom feeder in the league, but they're young and easily exited if you turn over the puck.
In order to keep things in check we'll have to take care of the puck and move it well enough out of our own zone.

Well,it's game one so....

So here we go again.

It's the start of year two with a couple of new players, some known faces from and guys that certainly want to bounce back to have a better season.

Let's hope the team can improve and give us more enjoyment than just(hey, at least we have a team now) so we can have more fun with these threads and discussions about the players, coaches and front office.

Oh, and of course

Beniers will shine today!!

Also, that Tanev - Gourde - Eberle line seems super fun!

Now let's get even more excited...

Like our projected starting line up tonight except for Wennberg at 2C. Keeping an open mind, though....
