If Stone didn't have the puck, then it was intent to injure a star player and Subban should be thrown out because of it. Otherwise it sets a bad precedent.

He didn't have the puck - probably just wanted to break or tie up Stone's stick with a reckless slash.

Thankfully he was kicked from the game. Second time he has wildly swung his stick. Hopefully Mark Stone isn't feeling it too much.
