We are very happy with sweeping the defending Stanley Cup Champion LA Kings and we will now set our focus on a very tough Minnesota Wild club. Minnesota boasts 2 of the best talents in the NHL up front with newly acquired Steven Stamkos and Corey Perry. They also feature guys like Mikko Koivu, Ryan Suter and Devin Setoguchi. They also have a very good tandem in net.

It will be a very stiff test from a very good opponent. We feel that we have a deeper roster that will match up well against their star players and we think over the course of a gruelling playoff series, the rookies on their roster might not be able to keep up.

Best of luck Minny!

Right...playing NYR, not PITT..

The Rangers have a solid team, for sure, but their D corps is significantly weaker than last year. We think the Girardi will have an incredible series against his old team. Losing him and Staal means they will give up more goals. We have the best C depth in the league (Weiss is our #3...) and a D corps that compliments each other well in OFD-DFD pairings.

Well, I'm thankful for the votes to beat the Flyers! That was a very tough matchup and kudos to them! Now on to the best of the EAST! The only way you can be the best is to beat the best! And unfortunately this game is played on paper rather than on the ice!

Vote :sabres to upset the Pens!

We feel with our solid defensive centers in Ott and Malhotra we can shut down the Pens high flying attack! Malhotra has played with the Sedins for a few years and knows their strengths and weaknesses and we boast some big hitters who can take them off their game! We will need our snipers to shellshock Luongo who (unfortunately as a Canucks fan) has been shaky in recent playoffs similar to Bryzgalov! We feel if we can score early on Luongo we will be able to shake his confidence and beat the Pens!

Our defensive strength on defense (Gorges, Klesla and O'Byrne) will help stop the Pens top two lines!

And our Goaltending will need to stand on it's head as we know it can (Rask and Anderson) have the capability to be game changers!

VOTE :sabres to upset the Pens in 6 games!

1st line- This line would be very hard to stop. Krejci is a great player who had 62 pts. last year, St Louis on the wing had 74 pts in 77 games last year and the year before he had 99 pts. Put Oshie on the wing and he turns into a 80+pt player.

2nd line- Backes is a elite defensive player. He was nominated for the selke trophy last year while putting up 54 pts. and 64 the year before. Horton is a winger who can get 50+pts. while being a defensive force, hitting everyone out there. Tanguay is a scorer who had 50pts in 64 games last year and had 70 the year before. He also provides playoff experience scoring twice in game 7 of the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals.

3rd line - Alex Steen is a incredibly underrated player. He is great defensively and had 34 pts. in 43 games last year with 50 in 70 the year before. Andy McDonald has had health issues the last few years, but there is no denying that when he is healthy he is a great scorer. Last year he had 22pts. in 25 games and the year before he had 50 in 58. Peverley is a solid two-way player, he had 42 pts. In 57 games last year.

4th line - Wellwood is a great defensive player while putting up 18 goals last year and 47 pts. Sobotka is a young player excellent defensively and had a respectable 30 pts. in 65 games. Arnott is a vet who can provide very valuable leadership with 400 career goals and 904 pts. as well as a good 34 pt season last year.

1st pair- Byfuglien-Chara. Both 50+pts. Both excellent defensively. Both Homoungous. That is all.

2nd pair- Shattenkirk is one of the league’s top young, two-way defenseman in the league.Scoring 42 pts. last year and being solid defensively. Barret Jackman is extremely solid defensively and a great leader.

3rd pair- Corvo scored 40 pts. a year ago and can handle defensive responsibilities. Brewer is a pure defensive defenseman and one of the best in the game.
Goalie- Halak is a great goalie who has proven he can step up his game and be elite in the play-offs.(see:Montreal 2009)

We are happy to sweep a great young team like The Avs and look forward to the Blackhawks. We feel we have the Blackhawks beat on offense, defense, and Goaltending. Their first line is good but we have a similar first line with MSL who can hit 100 pts. Their second line is weak as Kunitz is only good next to Crosby and with Desharnais at center I cant expect a lot of scoring. On defense they have great depth but as a star they really only have Keith. We match their depth but also carry Chara,Byfuglien and Shattenkirk. We feel Halak is a much better goalie than Fluery and has proven to be elite in the past.

Good luck to the Hawks.

I wish the Sharks the best of luck! Though the sharks are loaded with toughness and depth, they will be hard up against what is sure to be an elite powerplay unit. I think they will struggle with penalties, as well.

I also think Stamkos, Perry, Mikko and Suter are on another level than Thornton, Staal, Havlat and Enstrom...and these should be the difference makers.

Well, Here we go, top two teams in the west :sharks vs :blues. We feel our two-way players will thrive and we can pull this off. Chara and Byfuglien have the ability to completely dominate a series unlike any of the sharks players and guys like Backes,Steen and everyone else on our team have the defensive ability to shut-down the sharks offense. We also feel we have better depth on O and on D.

Good luck to :sharks they have built a great team. I know from looking at past games and being in this one that Produce is a great GM.

We belive we have arguably the best top 9 in the league we may not be the biggest team or the most offensively talented but we deffenetly have the most Heart and Soul, and heart may win games and we also have the reigning Vezina and Masterson trophy winners in our lineup as well as finalists for the Hart,Lindsay, and the Messier Leadership Award. So vote :rangers

6-5 :(

Florida is happy with our season but disappointed by our exit. Thought we had a real chance to win this thing. Glad we could compete with NYR though, one vote away!

On to Dongs game I guess.

Congrats to jumpin Joe and the Sharks.

To celebrate the Wild loss I will be shipping Steven Stamkos and Ryan Suter to the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL league for the vast majority of next season.

:sabres would like to thank all the voters who had them almost beat the number one seed in the East! We feel our team has improved immensely since the 2011-2012 season and will be ready next season to win the CUP!

Good luck to all of the teams remaining in the playoffs!

Very impressed by the show of class from all the playoff and rebuilder playoff teams. Very nice sportsmanship all the way through. I haven't see that in a game in a long time.

We are thrilled to make it to the West finals! We are happy to get past a very good team in Minnesota. Their star power is incredible and their franchise will now be a marquee destination for free agents. They had a great trade deadline and will be a strong team moving forward.

We now face the toughest test in the West, the St. Louis Blues. Nothing but respect for our opponents. They are a terrific team and Coachbadkitten has done a tremendous job managing this team. It will be tough, but we hope we come away with a victory!
