Vote :habs!!!

We have very good forward depth with 3 scoring lines and a 4th line that could easily score 35-40 goals!

We also have a great top 4 defense, a solid 3rd pair, and a good young goalie.

We are very happy to have won the President's Trophy as the best regular season team. Home ice advantage is a wonderful thing to have, and we will enjoy that luxury in what we hope to be a lengthy playoff run.

This is a new breed of the San Jose Sharks. We are a younger, bigger, more aggressive, and more complete team then in years previous. We have a very large, very physical forward group that who are highly skilled but also capable of grinding down and punishing the opposition. A group that is built to last. We have a great mix of guys in our defense. We can count on some offensive contributions on top of stellar shut down play. In net, we have one of the most consistent, high level goaltenders in the NHL. It will be a tough road, but we feel that we have all the right personnel to bring the city of San Jose it's first Stanley Cup!

Porter- 650k

1st line- This line would be very hard to stop. Krejci is a great player who had 62 pts. last year, St Louis on the wing had 74 pts in 77 games last year and the year before he had 99 pts. Put Oshie on the wing and he turns into a 80+pt player.

2nd line- Backes is a elite defensive player. He was nominated for the selke trophy last year while putting up 54 pts. and 64 the year before. Horton is a winger who can get 50+pts. while being a defensive force, hitting everyone out there. Tanguay is a scorer who had 50pts in 64 games last year and had 70 the year before. He also provides playoff experience scoring twice in game 7 of the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals.

3rd line - Alex Steen is a incredibly underrated player. He is great defensively and had 34 pts. in 43 games last year with 50 in 70 the year before. Andy McDonald has had health issues the last few years, but there is no denying that when he is healthy he is a great scorer. Last year he had 22pts. in 25 games and the year before he had 50 in 58. Peverley is a solid two-way player, he had 42 pts. In 57 games last year.

4th line - Wellwood is a great defensive player while putting up 18 goals last year and 47 pts. Sobotka is a young player excellent defensively and had a respectable 30 pts. in 65 games. Arnott is a vet who can provide very valuable leadership with 400 career goals and 904 pts. as well as a good 34 pt season last year.

1st pair- Byfuglien-Chara. Both 50+pts. Both excellent defensively. Both Homoungous. That is all.

2nd pair- Shattenkirk is one of the league’s top young, two-way defenseman in the league.Scoring 42 pts. last year and being solid defensively. Barret Jackman is extremely solid defensively and a great leader.

3rd pair- Corvo scored 40 pts. a year ago and can handle defensive responsibilities. Brewer is a pure defensive defenseman and one of the best in the game.
Goalie- Halak is a great goalie who has proven he can step up his game and be elite in the play-offs.(see:Montreal 2009)

Our top line features two of the most elite wingers in the NHL playing beside one of the best centers in the league. On the second line, we have a great sniper, a pure playmaker, and one of the best up-and-coming forwards in the league. Third line has three great forwards equally good at grinding and generating offense. Our fourth line has a few tough guys sure to intimidate the rather small Florida team.

On defense, we have one of the best offensive defensemen in the past few years paired with a young but proven D-man. On the second pair, we have two great defensive defensemen who can help offense out as well. On the third pair, is a veteran who will still crack most teams' top 4 and a hard-hitting shutdown defensemen. In net, one of the best young goalie prospects in the NHL who steps up his game in the playoffs. In the unlikely event he falters, we have a veteran goaltender to finish the job.

Vote :sabres over the Flyers in round 1!

This will be a very tough matchup against a formidable opponent but we feel we can succeed with grit and scoring from our top 3 lines, especially wingers. We feel we have the upperhand with Vanek, Parenteau, Michalek, Gionta, Latendresse and Simmonds! The Flyers have the advantage at center with a dynamic duo of Giroux-Staal, but our wingers will off-set that and our center depth is very solid with Ott-Malhotra centering our 3rd and 4th lines. We also feel that our 4th line will be able to provide some grit and attack and has a slight advantage over the Flyers' 4th line.

On D, both teams have some solid defensive d-men as well as offensive, the Flyers may have an advantage with Karlsson anchoring their D but our top 6 is very deep.

In net, the Flyers have the enigmatic Bryzgalov, who doesn't seem to excel under pressure, as his playoff stats are very average/below average. We feel that we have an advantage with Rask handcuffed with Anderson (who has had excellent playoff statistics!)

Our prediction is BUFFALO SABRES in 6 games!

[/FIELDSET]

The Flyers are lead by an elite 1-2-3 center punch down the middle of Claude Giroux, Eric Staal, and Sean Couturier. We don't have a big name like Vanek on the wings but we have 6 wingers who are all capable of playing in top-6 roles and are great fits for their centers.

The defense is lead by reigning Norris winner Erik Karlsson, but it also has tons of depth and defensive skill with Coburn, Sekera, and Timonen all being serviceable top-pairing options.

Bryzgalov may be "enigmatic" but there is no denying that he is talented as hell and is absolutely capable of stealing games.

Vote :flyers With equal depth as the Sabres, it all comes down to the elite parts, and Giroux, Karlsson, and Staal put the Flyers over the top.
