BTW, too bad Addison played 12:59 instead of 12:49... would've been perfect reflection of the opposite directions of the 2 young defensemen tonight. 21:49 vs 12:49... but alas... 12:59...

Question is who would trade for him, and why?
He's young... someone will take a chance that a change of scenery and less competition for a every day role might benefit him.

Besides, someone out there always wants a PP specialist at least.

Weird game, but not unexpected. not only were most of our best players out, but our new ones were playing with unfamiliar people, at least up front.

Was disappointed with Addison's play. He simply doesn't make enough effort to play defense. Doesn't move his feet enough to get in between the man and the goal when defending. It's nothing to do with size, or talent, it's "want to"...all he has to do is look at Spurgeon play.

Rossi not only made a bad pass leading to a GA, but didn't haul ass on the backcheck when he made the mistake. The contrast between him and Dewar racing back in the final minutes was clear. Not only is Dewar much faster, he also tries harder.
Otherwise, he was ok....sort of meh. Did a couple of good things.

Faber looked competent. He definitely needs to play a bit more, to see if it was simply beginner's luck.

Petan his usual invisible self(at the NHL level).

Middleton didn't have a vg game, either.

Merril terrible, addison terrible, rossi terrible. Faber is the 2nd best skating dman on the team. Hes definitely capable of playing now in the nhl.

Stealing the puck at own blue line, skating it in at full speed, the drop pass between his own legs, the lift up of a Blackhawk stick and the onetimer for the gamewinning goal is a thing of beauty for Johansson. Wow.

Foligno really trying to pat himself on the back. The biggest impact of the fight IMO? The addition by subtraction of him from the lineup.
I'm usaully among the biggest eye roll crowd on fights firing teams up, but the results this time in short order...

Maybe fights are only effective now if you take a helmet as a scalp...

I've still not given up on Rossi, but I can't say I'm not dissapointed. He needed to show something tonight .... and he didn't. Bummer

Maybe another GM is foolish enough to give us a 3rd or something for Addison this off-season. He cannot defend at this level and is an atrocious fit on our blueline which has a small core group. Will be nice to put that behind us.

Only question is who runs the PP next year. My dark horse guess is Peart. He’s a gamer much like Faber but not sure if he’s leaving St. Cloud. Only other hope is that Spurgeon spends his whole off-season learning to play the PP but it’s tough for an old dog to learn new tricks

The lack of intensity is concerning and you know that part pisses off Evason & Guerin who are both hard-nosed types.

I’ve always thought there is a good chance he ends up on the wing. Not many Cs his size in the league and the ones that do make it work are mostly great skaters.
