When Foligno comes back that's a good lift for us. He's reasonably fast, smart, and very strong. The GEEF line can potentially shut down the Mackinnon line. Johansson has looked decent, and surprisingly fast since he has come back. We need as much speed as we can to match the Avs. Besides getting back in transition, that speed is needed to bottle up the smaller, but very mobile Avs Dmen on the forecheck. That is where they are vulnerable, IMO.
Oh, and we can't take penalties, AND we need to have a PP. And FO's. Other than that, we are good!
Until we have a good Center or two, we just aren't going to be able to beat them in a series, though our goaltending is looking pretty damn good. Guys like Rask, Parise, Bjugstad(though he has looked strangely faster in the past week or so), Suter, and Cole are just too slow to be effective against CO.
If the standings end up as;
CO
VGK
US
STL
then thats about as good as it's going to get for us. We have a chance to beat Vegas. Hope that STL beats, or at least beats up, CO. By that time Boldy will have adjusted to the league and transformed our PP into a juggernaut, giving us a chance to beat the Nordiques.
