I sure wouldn't. They were far and away the best against the Kings. I was surprised Carberry split them up against the Ducks - that was a head scratcher.

This got me thinking... and I'm totally just throwing shit at the wall here...but what if refusing to commit to certain line combos (excluding 8-92-43) is about instilling the system.

What I mean is, I'm sure Carbery is as big a fan of player chemistry as any HC, but maybe right now he's trying to get guys to focus on themselves and their jobs regardless of who they're on the ice with. Building a team that can be plug and play before you lean too heavily on chemistry could mean that if say, Mantha gets hurt, CMM and Protas don't fall apart and instead pick up more or less where they were with whoever steps in on the wing. Once you've got that structure engrained then you take advantage of chemistry among certain guys without being wholly dependant on it.

Just a thought I had.

Phillips?

Phillips is a healthy scratch when the full lineup is healthy. These 12 forwards are better than Leason, and so is Pacioretty.

- Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Strome, Wilson, Milano, Mantha, McMichael, Protas, Lapierre, Dowd, Malenstyn and NAK.

I didn't count Oshie since he is simply never healthy anymore.
