Home Opener for the Wild, time to celebrate!

The NHL's Minnesota Wild on Thursday announced HocktoberFest on West 7th, a street party on West 7th Street in downtown St. Paul between Kellogg Blvd. and Walnut Street, will be held Saturday, Oct. 6 from 2 to 11 p.m. in conjunction with the Wild's home opener against the Vegas Golden Knights. Fans will be able to watch the Wild home opener on two Jumbotrons located at each end of the street party. The event is free and open to the public.

Things I'll be watching tonight: 1. Suter; will his lackluster play continue. 2. 3rd line; will the Greenway at center, Coyle and JEE on wings experiment continue to be a dismal failure. 3. 4th line; didn't think they were too bad and actually produced a couple scoring opportunities. Will this continue. 4. Possession; will we be able to control the puck and dictate the play this game.

In the postgame interview Granlund politely declines to elaborate on the goal, as he doesn't like talking about indecent things. There is much rejoicing across the Wild country with faint but happy echoes all the way across the cold Atlantic, in the far northeastern corner of Europe, in a place called Finland.
