Talbot served as Kahkonen's backup in San Jose and could be primed to make his first start since the one-goal loss in Denver early this month.

Offensively, the Wild has been powered of late by the line of Kirill Kaprizov, Victor Rask and Mats Zuccarello, a trio that combined for five points in the win in Anaheim on Saturday night, before totaling nine points versus the Sharks.

Colorado begins the game one point ahead of Minnesota in the West Division standings. Both teams have played just 15 games, tied for fewest among the eight clubs in the West.

Like mentioned it'll be interesting to see how the team fares against a true top team of the league. They've looked decent against the West coast teams but that doesn't tell a whole lot.

Also interested in seeing how Kähkönen does against Avs. He hasn't lookes very convicing to me even though he's got the job done. It would be nice to see him steal a game.

Colorado's blueline is much improved but they only have 1 forward line that is threat without Saad. The arrival of Kaprizov and emergence of JEE & Greenway has made us a much better team and we should be able to skate with Colorado tonight.

At least they're beating the crap teams that they should be beating. Minnesota teams usually have a penchant for playing down to or below the turds they're playing against. So, so far this is a nice surprise.
