We’ve seen this in portions of each of the last 3 seasons. Injuries - here to Nicky, Mantha, and Dowd (until recently) create opportunities, and young, hungry players come in and play with energy and two-way commitment, and the Caps suddenly look like a team that plays hockey like it’s played in the 2020s

There’s been this deference to incumbency in this organization since we won the Cup, and every time it’s disrupted we look way better

That’s one view….if only those young guys actually tore it up on the scoresheet…those spurts have been very short lived and there’s little actual evidence those young guys were the reason we hit a hot streak or 2. But this has been discussed over and over….not worth another debate.
