He sucked & couldn't skate. Montreal was right to not play him. Plus, he knew he was going to the taxi squad. He was lucky to get a contract at all. Guy got $750k to practice.
We don't really know that, maybe he was promised a spot on starting roster. Maybe he was told he was part of the top 12..or they saw him as a viable piece on 3rd line.
I'm not so convinced Bergevin explained he would be on the outside and need to really prove himself, basically earning himself a slightly better deal than a tryout contract.
I can understand he is upset being casted away from the get go, but, his game was also crap.
That's because we've seen dozens of over the hill, bargain bin reclamation projects come and go over the years. It's just too many to count. Do other GMs do this too?Forgot about him already. He knew where he was going last season when habs started the season with Perry at 13th forward and Frolik as 14th.
Habs are not in business to help x player get his 1000th nhl game. He wasn't that good after all. When Perry was signed, Frolik was done here, sadly. It happens and I think Frolik would have been a terrible bad player for us. Perry did the job.Interesting article on TVAsport
«Le CH a carrément mis fin à ma carrière dans la LNH» - TVA Sports
frolik says habs basically ended his nhl career.
A player who is done should stay quiet. He make noise when he should be silent.Sounds like sour grapes. Frolik was done when Habs got him
It's not weak, it's a possible reality. I don't blame Bergey on anything here, just saying, you don't know a lot of what you're speculating. When you sign for near league minimum in the dying days of the offseason then you should know you are a spare part. Maybe Bergevin did promise something but it's doubtful or Frolik wouldn't say they never gave me a chance he'd say they promised me this and never gave it to me.
The Bergevin maybe promised him something is a weak argument and comes across as just trying to put some blame on Bergevin because he sucks and therefore has to be at least partially at fault. There's enough real things we can crap on Bergevin over that we don't need to resort to made up situations that maybe happened but have no evidence for.
