The Canes basically got Patches for free as a cap dump. We had the cap space and could certainly have gone for that. Really wonder if we are still in on Klingberg (and upgrading our D). Could easily have made the F core better with some of the other acquisitions.

Most outrageous contract of the day: Sergachev, 8 years, 8.5 million.

Best deal: Kane, 4 years, 5.125 million

Good day for Ottawa and Detroit; bad day for Calgary and Toronto

huh why petry?
I figured they are still looking to improve that D. Petry is 34 and signed of another 3 years at 6.25M AAV. Not sure if that really makes sense for us. Cheaper than Klingberg contract but different type of player

Maybe montreal will eat salary? like 50%?

I can't believe that deal. It's so good for Columbus and it came out of the blue as well

Gaudreau and Laine are a hell of a one- two punch, but I can't name a single Columbus centre.

never figured Columbus on Johnny Hockey. Crazy.
I guess Fletcher couldn't find any takers for the JVR contract.

Arizona, Chicago and Philly all look like the tank teams for Bedard. Philly will be mean though. Return of the Broad Street Bullies.
