Franzen vs Hartnell: Who will be remembered as the better player?

This has me scratching my head.

Scott Hartnell was pure WWF. One of the most entertaining players of the last generation. And he has like double the career points of Franzen.

I am wondering if the bulk of people who voted Franzen career over "Hartnall" career acted like this was about some other bloke.

Franzen had a streak of 3 playoffs in a row where he scored at a 50 goal, 95 point pace if you extrapolate it over an 82 game season. Those are runs to the finals, playing against the best teams in the league and still scoring like that. Hatrnell never came close to that. The Mule's regular seasons at that time copmared pretty decently to Hartnells best but his playoffs bend Hartnells over and does what he wants with them.

I could see Hartnell career getting a vote, but peak is pretty clearly Franzen for those playoff runs

I never said anything about peak, I'm talking about career, which is clearly Hartnell.

The Mule will not be forgotten, his 5 goal game was legendary. He took his game to a completely new level every playoffs.

I'm trying to figure out how the hell 5 people said "Hartnell peak, Franzen career".

Anyway, if you're drafting them you take Hartnell. If you're loading up for a playoff run in the very specific window where Franzen peaked, you want Franzen.

Hartnell was the much better player, Franzen is one of those players that get remembered for being better than they actually were. Just look at how much better Hartnells stats are.

Far and away better than Franzen. Franzen has never been a top 3 player on any team he played on in the NHL.

-For peak Hartnells top 3 seasoms are better than Franzens best. I mean it's pretty clearly Hartnell but I guess (?) You can make a case?

-career wise, anyone voting Franzen needs to get their vote canceled. Hartnell played 17 seasons in the league and more than doubled Franzen in points.

In fact this "3 years of dominance" is more than matched by Hartnell over an actual 82 game season when he scored 37-30-67 then went on to score at almost a PPG pace in the playoffs.

In 08, 09 and 10 Franzén had 31 goals and 59 points in 51 playoff games which is a 50 goals/95 points pace over 82 games.

Franzen has collectively over the playoffs 08-09-10, 31 goals, 28 assists over 51 games. Prorated to 82 games it comes out

Lol, nice try chief... you didnt think to look and see if you picked the right 3 years before posting this? Take a look at 2010 and then redo your post.

If you go from when Franzen broke out in the 2008 cup run he had 121 points in 149 games for a 67 point and 41 goal pace. Those are consecutive games for Franzen at his peak, a lot of them being in the playoffs. I'll take that over Hartnells one regular season that isnt as good and his 3 goal playoff after that very easily.
