Franson - Is it Sustainable????

Nobody is going to pony up 7x7 for this guy.

I would hope not, but, if Franson thinks he's equal to, or better than Phaneuf, there's nothing stopping him from asking for $6.0M or more from the Leafs!

Get what you can for him now! If he really wants to be a Leaf, then, he can re-sign next summer for a reasonable amount south of $5.0M over 3 years!

Another that might be considered in that group — and who would fetch the largest return — is defenceman Cody Franson at $3.3 million. The Leafs have to decide if they can afford to re-sign the 27 year old to the same kind of long-term deal they gave Dion Phaneuf. If not, it might be time to move him.

The most value you get is for a signed Franson but if his defensive ability reverts back to last year not good. If that 1st is on the table and the min signing is 5.75 you probably take the 1st+ for him.
