OT: Franchise Hockey Manager....the new EHM

Have you guys heard of the new hockey management simulator in the same mould of EHM?

EHM, was, and still is amazing however FHM is determined to usurp and dethrone the king.

The BETA version has been released, have you tried it? What are your thoughts?

Great game but still very raw... a lot of bugs but that's to be expected. I'm a big fan of these types of games so I didn't mind spending money for a pre-order and a beta.

If you like Be A GM mode in NHL13, you will definitely like this type of game. Manage lines, icetime, tactics, rosters etc.

I'm in a FHL sim league, it's our 7th year. I was an assistant GM for a few years, and I am just finishing up my 1st year at the helm of a team.

It's...amazing. We even do a live draft, where 80% of the GM's fly in to the commissioners house, and we do 8 rounds of drafting over 2 days, then watch the real draft.

Keep in mind forwards are generally more valuable than d-men in our league, that's why the D's went late compared to the real NHL draft.

It's basically hockey porn, and I am addicted.
If you manage to find yourself in a well ran league with good GM's, there's nothing like it. I highly suggest it for hockey fanatics.

Agree, still raw but you can already tell that once the game is polished this will be many many times better than EHM.

This is one game I've been looking forward to playing.
I have EHM 07 and I have to say, it's my best investment in a game ever.

It is a single player sim for now but the baseball sim from the same company (Out of the park) can also be played online.

It's in the same mold as Football Manager. Some additional features that EHM didn't have:

-Historical mode: Play with teams from the 80s with real NHL rosters
-Commissioner mode: Change league rules, teams that are in the league, etc
-Set the ice-time: I thought this was a neat feature that wasn't available in EHM, you can set the ice-time for each line. For example I want Gorges-Subban to play 24 mins per game, Markov-Emelin 20 mins, etc.

There's more but that's all that I can remember right now.

Nanh, the GM I took over from wasn't really fond of keeping draft picks, plus he just made a cup run. I'll have 3 drafts under my belt before I get a 1st rounder.

My earliest pick in that draft was round 3.

The game has a TON of potential, but it's still very raw and very much a beta.

this looks cool but I hope it's either customizable as far as detail or otherwise not too detailed. I used to like the Championship Manager soccer series until they made it way too time-consuming by having it way too detailed. I lost interest when I had to spend like 5 hours just on setting up a training schedule . . .

I had Bobby Ryan get over 2000 points and my team didn't retire his number.

I've had my goalie score. I've had my 2 number 1 goalies get ACL injures in back to back game of the stanley cup finals. Luckily my number 3 was Price.

I've had the game glitch and I was able to sign top players for 50k.
