Why in the world did the Sabres agree to take on both his and Sobotka's contract? That ROR was/is horrible.
That first round pick isn’t looking too bad right now.
Odd because he was part of an amazing fourth line with the Sabres that was extremely effective and got good ice time. Plus the Sabres are winning...
Hope he is okay
Why would you not collect that money?
Why in the world would anyone take on 4 years at 4 million for a fourth liner?
Not protected next year..It's protected. It's not much. Especially not for a player the level of ROR.
It’s been extremely effective and a big part of the Sabres’ success. So I think they know what they are doing.
Not protected next year..
Haha it’s amusing watching people trying to defend him and his contract.he's been consistently outchanced and has been a horrible possession player, not to mention being scratched/benched. If he's this bad right now, imagine paying him $4M in three years. It's one of the worst contracts in the league.
Not protected next year but with some minor retooling the blues can easily bounce back. They aren't a bad team. Berglund/Sobotka are negative contracts. You should have got a first round pick++ just to take on those contracts.

Or...the Blues could blow it all up and do even worse next year.
Dude, it's obvious you haven't watched him or the Sabres this year. He has been good, the Sabres board throws a minor fit whenever he is benched in favour of some plug like Elie. His "scratches" early in the year were because we also have Erod and Thompson who need ice time and lately were clearly something more than his quality of play given what has happened.
He is definitely overpaid. That is not in dispute, but he isn't a bad player.
