Again, seriously, did anybody in the Canucks staff actually watch the guy play? You can get away with that kind of skating as a winger (to a degree). But at the NHL level playing defenseman?
I meant the players who came to us in their older years who were fan favourites for their former teams.

Linden had a respectible return. Led the team in points in his last postseason appearance. Speaking strictly as a player. Heck, I seem to remember people being mad he wasn't re-signed to play longer.

Former Canuck Nicklas Jensen with a hattrick and assist in his first game in the worlds this year.
He was a Canuck and he's decent. We spent a late pick on him even though we could have just signed him as a FA and then we promptly did nothing with him and released him. SOP here in Canuck-land...

he was a sub-ppg player as a 20yo in the QMJHL. No kidding they didn’t sign him.
