My church used to take all of the alter boys and choir members to Canobie Lake at the end of the school year back in the mid 90's. We spent all day going on rides, eating junk food and playing games. We all felt so cool riding in those Coach busses with the cloth chairs and tv's.

Such great memories.

Those slide were very sketchy.
Didn’t they have a slower slide you rode an inflatable tube down? It was either there or Water Country I think I rode that most of the day. I remember winning some contest too, I talked my mom into taking me up to it and we ended up winning lol. Weirs Beach and Acadia were my two favorite vacation spots.

You, the sibs and 10 of your most favored of friends all in the a back of a shitty station wagon for an hour plus in the summer heat.

An unending supply of hot dogs, burgers, corn, ice cream sandwiches and endless Cokes.

Trying not to pull a Bruins afterward on coasters, tilt-a-whirls and the Turkish Twist.

I haven't thought of the Digital outings at Canobie in forever.

I guess kids today have phones, so..
Yeah, eating a hot dog, and getting a giant soft serve before getting on the Turkish Twist was one of the worst decisions of my young life.

I barely made it through the ride, but quickly threw up in aa trash can afterwards.

I live in Hudson NH but grew up in Littleton, MA.. As a child we went to Bensons. When I first moved up here (In the late 80s) the elephants still lived where Bensons was because they had nowhere else for them.

We used to go to Whalom Park (it was in Lunenberg MA). Now it is abandoned.

Go Tigers!

Back in 2019, I transferred my parents' old Super8 films to digital for their 50th Anniversary, and they had some footage from Benson's in '69, Stoneham Zoo in '73, and Edaville Railroad from '75. Gold.

Whalom was always the poor man's Canobie to me, and my friends.

Best Roller Coaster ride in New England is riding the Boston Bruins coaster.
