Considering the recent toews news....

In the summer of 2015, how many of you thought toews was the better player?

i know a bunch of my friends thought crosby put up empty stats, while toews was more important to winning. I think the NHL media was split 50/50 on the debate. obviously this argument ceased to exist post- 2016.

I would be more interested in this on a general board. We would say Crosby of course.

The teams Toews had in 2010, 2013, and 2015 were better than any team Sid had until 2016/2017...and even then it was debatable as Toews had Kane or Hossa while Sid has Sheary, Horny, Rust, and Jake (those Jake was good).

You could easily go tit-for-tat when it comes to big goals being scored at big times.

says Crosby
that 3-9-3 record is horrific. although Crosby is the clear better player, its a good thing we didnt meet in the stanley cup final. would not have gone well

Only those who can’t distinguish between team and individual success would say Toews was anywhere near Sid’s level.

Dude was flanked by some of the best players of the post-lockout era for years. Anytime their bottom six depth got chopped, they were out in the 1st round. And when the big boys got older/retired/moved on, they were a lotto team.

You can always tell when it’s that time of the summer: the silly threads keeping popping up on this Board…

In 06 my hope was to draft Toews or Backstrom (or Phil!). We made out ok but I wonder how it would've turned out with Toews as a 3C/2C in those days. Or Kessel from day 1.
