Grosmannn being +6 while Ghost is -21 is peak flyera lol.

This is why +/- is a shit stat. It doesn't account for usage and opponents level of skill...

And includes empty net goals, delayed penalties, shorthanded goals, goals when a player literally just put one foot on the ice and is 100ft from the play etc...

It would be a "meh" stat if it was "just" 5v5, 4v4 and 3v3 goal differential alone, and even then it could only really be analysed in relation to team-mates, and goals are still so relatively rare that it is not exactly as super repeatable stat as a lot of "luck" goes into it. But the way it was formulated was just so illogical to make it close to meaningless.

Completely useless stat.

The fact that you can literally step on the ice and immediately get a plus or a minus, having done LITERALLY nothing to effect the goal, means that no real conclusions can be drawn from it.

Even if you play your position 100% flawlessly you can get a minus if your teammates are idiots or your goalie sucks. And obviously the opposite is true too.
