Season series: It's the first of two meetings between the teams this month, with the rematch set
for Nov. 29 at Wells Fargo Center. The Philadelphia Flyers won two of three games between the
teams last season, but the Winnipeg Jets won their most recent game, 4-1 at MTS Centre on April 6.

Big story: Both teams come in riding three-game win streaks. For the Flyers, despite their early
struggles they're three points out of third place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Jets have won four of their past five and their game Friday marks the first of a stretch of
four of their next five at home; Winnipeg has won three straight at MTS Centre.

I'd tend to agree. If the Jets are actually going to be contenders rather than pretenders they need to win games like these. They just stole a game on the road, they are riding a 3 game winning streak and are well rested at home.

Personally, I think Monty should start tonight. It would force the team to focus in a slightly different way and might offset the complacency that seems to creep in whenever The Jets manage to claw their way to a .500 record.

and yes, I think Monty should also play the second of the back to back.

As for the game, I wouldn't be surprised if these two teams found a way to both lose. :/

8-4 Jets but an obscurre rule is enacted and it's somehow still a shootout winner. The Jets just seem to have the Flyers number most of the time, I don't think tonight will be any different. Even if Mason stop good puck I still see us outplaying the team handily.
