Guessing Flyers go with a lineup that will closely resemble opening nights.

I think Hakstol said these last 2 preseason games were going to closely resemble the actual team.

I believe it will be on NHL Network as soon as the Penguins-Blue Jackets game ends. That game starts at 3 and once it's over they will join in progress our game.

I think it is more of an issue of cap & waivers than ability.

Lyubimov is on 210k more than VdV and is waiver exempt.

And while Weal has been better he is not overly suited to a 4th line wing role tbh.

Hextall's hand has been forced really...


Flyers are $1,675,000 over the cap... sending down AMac down in paper transaction nets them $950k space... but they would still be $725k over... and VdV & Weal earn less than that.

To start with I think.

He deserves to start on Flyers... but problems with cap/waivers mean that him going to AHL is pretty much the only way for Flyers to get under cap (his salary is 200-300k more than VandeVelde or Weal, and Read would likely be claimed.) to start season and be able to LTIR Del Zotto.

But as Hextall said, the cap means you can't always have the best 23 guys on the roster
