Highly doubt that. Somethings he has done here are flagrant stubbornness and no vision. He has learned something from the Spooner experience. Even if Spooner benefited from his demotion.

Yes, he has learned when your job is on the line , you sometimes make moves out of character.

man if Clown Julien gets his hands on McDavid...poor Connor

I think Bruins fans would be shocked to see what a Julien team would look like w/ speed. Real speed. I mean above and beyond having Dan Paille on your 4th line and the only guy capable of beating a sled hockey player up the ice.

Yep with that real speed, they'd be dynamite on the backcheck.

swagger, speed, a better D corps and scoring touch - I think the system can work. I get frustrated just as much as the next poster with who he has out there late in a game but I think this club can still win with Claude.

I realize it's prolly an editor who wrote the headline, but once again we read a Fluto article with nothing in it to justify the headline.

But I disagree with those who claim Claude tries to turn all players into defensive specialists.

IMO he tries to make all players defensively responsible, which I think all players should be.

I think you're on point here.

Unfortunately, I think at this point people who believe Claude wants to turn all his players into defensive specialists are not going to change their minds. There's nothing to support that idea but it's constantly brought up.

Todd McLellan met with Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli at IIHF worlds

"Depending on what his former boss with the Detroit Red Wings decides, Todd McLellan could be the rock star of the NHL coaching free agent pool this offseason. Which is why it would be wise to snatch him up fast ... which is why Peter Chiarelli met with the former San Jose Sharks coach in Prague.

"Terry Jones of the Edmonton Sun reported, in a roundabout way, that the new Edmonton Oilers GM met with McLellan, who is currently coaching Team Canada in the IIHF world championships. Jones dropped that nugget after reporting that Chiarelli left Prague before Mike Babcock – currently of the Red Wings – arrived."

Can we interview Babcock for the job with Julien still under contract?

Babcock IS Julien. Defense first, plays the vets. Go over to the Wings board and it sounds exactly like this board except no one is complaining about the Wings being soft, because they don't care about that in Detroit.

If you want defense first, veteran over youth, and soft hockey...Babcock is your man.

As the leader (and only member) of the Keep Clode in Boston movement, I must say that he'd be a pretty solid HC for the EO... Lots of young offensive forwards needing 2-way development, and I think he could be good for Nurse and co.

I agree they aren't too far off from where we were when he took over, the team needs structure and who better to teach it.

There's plenty to dislike about the Wings, but I'll give them this:

When they gain possession f the puck, they try like hell to keep it.

They actually pass it to their own players, in stride.....what a concept!

Could have something to do with having a bunch of players that can make passes and receive them as well.

Julien made some collossal mistakes this year, probably cost them a playoff spot.

------
CJ made mistakes. But I don't think he made more mistake than good decision. In the balance, CJ is not Boston problems.

Now my main issue is: hope Neely does not become Boston's problem. Mike Milbury would be a HUGE mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keeping puck possession is not soft!
