This freeing up Riemer to be traded? Possibly to AZ for something useful?

Eh sometimes you don't have a ton of options. I mean we have Lindback in the AHL, you know that guy we traded to Tampa ages ago for a 2nd round pick that did nothing? That's how bad we needed someone for the AHL lol.

Vegas puts a claim on him and send Ferguson back down to Kamloops.

They passed on Niemi last time he was on waivers. Not sure why they'd claim him now that their regulars are a few weeks closer to returning.

Maybe a team trades for him* after he clears, same as Pickard, so he can be freely assigned to the minors. Does any team have a smoking crater in the G column of the depth chart?

*edit: obviously with no value going back.

Good on Niemi for having a successful career with a Stanley Cup win. He certainly isn't a HOF type of player but really solid for a good portion of his career regardless.

I think they passed on him when Subban and Dansk were still healthy.

They had healthy goalies at the time, but this time they'd send down both goalies and keep him as 2/3 goalie to whoever is healthy, then they'd place him on waivers.

Wouldn't be surprised if MB took him, with Price injured and Montoya out with a concussion

Then again how many teams is this guy gonna be on this year

As many as possible so his stink can rub off on teams so they know how truly bad he is and that it's not the team, it's definitely him.

Just be lucky JR has him at that 700k contract so he's so easily passed around.
