Monahan, Ryan and Dube should be the shooters moving forward. Remember that Ward!!!

Oh baby. Super happy to come out of that with a win. That's a really hot team on the other side.

There's something about Bruce Boudreau teams where they seem to just have an uncanny knack for knocking down and intercepting passes that by all accounts should go through. It was a hallmark of his Ducks teams, and again tonight it really stood out. But even with all of the neutral zone and defensive zone turnovers, we managed to generate enough zone time and chances to keep pace all game.

Dube and Ryan clutching up. Rittich is a breakaway god too

Spare thoughts:
-Dude wtf happened to Gaudreau's hands? New stick or what?
-Will never understand why some want Staal. Guy looks like an aging oaf who'd fall off a cliff here
-Lindholm looks like he's too in his head
-Man, how bad must Bennett's confidence be that he's not even scoring on breakaways in practice? Ryan, Mangi AND Dube all ahead of him in the shootout really shows how bad it's gotten

Bennett hasn't been a scorer during his NHL career. He doesn't have a plus shot or plus hands compared to those teammates.

He used to have hands though. At least in his first two years. Never worked hard enough on his shot though

It seemed to me Staal had the edge on Mony in OT after the initial faceoff. Outmuscled the puck off of Sean a few times.

Bennett has been passed by all of Monahan, Gaudreau, Lindholm, Tkachuk, Backlund, Ryan, Mangiapane, Dube. Even with Frolik gone, it’s easy to not have him as a top-9 forward for us.

Should've been traded for a rhs years ago. Kappy could've been a good target a couple years back, but it ain't happening anymore. Him not improving on his offense last year despite the team scoring 290 goals and spending a third of the season on the 2nd line should've been a bigger red flag.

Trade Jankowski for a 4th or send him down and call up Quine. I’m just sick of seeing him penciled in the line up. Bennett is useless too but at least he plays like he gives a shit

That's not the case and there's plenty of evidence on youtube to prove it
It's what I remember. As a rookie, he had that highlight reel goal against Pittsburgh where he toe-dragged Ian Cole, and his fourth goal against Florida involved a drag through his legs, but despite working, they always looked a bit awkward to me. Having good hands is less about pulling off moves as it is about being able to adjust extremely quickly as stick-blade positioning changes on both sides of the puck. Bennett doesn't read the play on a large- or small-scale very quickly, so to do anything with his hands he needs to plan it out in advance and have everything go according to that plan.

I would definitely put Derek Ryan above him in the hands department.

Nice to see games where we are able to score and back up Rittich when he doesn't play amazing to start. In all actuality the Flames played a good game, outchanced the Wild, and found ways to score while the Wild scored on Flames breakdowns/were able to control the puck on the outside of the zone. If Rittich played like he did at the start of the season these past 3 games then no one would be complaining about the Flames play.
