What gives Calgary? Especially on the left side? That list looks like multiple defensemen need to move this summer.

Peters news conference indicated a couple of players have been signed, but not announced yet. He's not sure if they will play in the NHL or AHL, but they're good. If Tre has signed Yelesin, a 23 yr old RD that would make two Russians, the other being G Zagidulin 23 yrs old as well.

Brodie is primarily an RD. Left side lookes pretty good though! And it remains to be seen if Fantenberg gets resigned.

I wonder if maybe Kylington becomes part of a Zucker deal this summer? With Frolik coming to Minnesota for salary purposes, and maybe some other additions where they need to be. Otherwise it seems like Kylington would be a healthy scratch or in the AHL most of the season.

Presumably, it Brodie is gone this summer, your D next year is

Getting Russian players in Calgary feels weird.

Brodie, Stone, and one of Kylington/Fantenberg all need to be gone this summer.

Stats are uproariously unimpressive. Either this player is the next coming in terms of stay at home D-men, or it's a pretty big meh until proven otherwise.

Is he nhl ready? Could mean one of hamonic or Brodie are all but gone this summer.

I think Brodie is all but gone regardless. The Flames could use the cap space, he’ll generate a decent return and the Flames have lots of good, young D.

Yeah, I think the writing is on the wall for Brodie. He likely brings a decent return and Andersson has shown he can play with Gio.

Top KHL deeman, not a scorer and not very big going by the stats. Better be a Lidstrom shutdown guy that hits like Big Buff

"Top khl defenseman" is overselling it. Quite young, went to allstars once from a weaker team.

Me thinks 3rd pairing. Shades of stoner with more mobility and better shot.

What are Flames looking for in return for Brodie?
A larger forward that has speed and can play top six. And about the same age. For me a Chris Kreider type would be ideal. Folks have to remember that Brodie is a top 4 D. If a team has a requirement to upgrade their D you trade quality for quality.

Brodie and Stone to Mtl for Lehkonen and a 2nd. Free up cap space to bring back Ferland and Lehkonen is a good 3rd line option. Can the get Zucker or maybe a better centre to move Backlund down to an elite 3C.

And that's fine. But like always, his contract(being a UFA next summer) becomes the issue.

Need forward prospects. a 1st would be ideal, but the Flyers’ 1st is rather high and wouldn’t be ideal for them to pay to get Brodie.

You don't really need forward prospects. You need forwards now. And goaltending.

Other than Dube all of our top end forward prospects have graduated. We need to restock the cupboards. And from the Flyers’ perspective, they aren’t trading Hart. That’s why i didn’t mention goaltending.
