Hoping Juuso has a good showing. That kid's got some grade A potential. This is a camp for him to show off a bit.
He'll be a deep runner in preseason I'm thinking.

Valimaki had a great play-offs playing for Tri-Cities. He was the main driving force on a team that didn't have the star power of the Broncos or Everett. He was therefore out on the ice for almost everything. Don't know if there is much more he can learn in the Dub.

Jankowski has committed to St. Lawrence University this fall, so this won't cost the Flames a penny as all NCAA players must pay their own way. So even if this is a favor to Mark, I see no harm (I know most comments have been in jest) and it might really help David develop as a player

Exactly. No harm, no foul. Many worse players than David Jankowski have gotten development camp invites for political reasons

Mind me asking what your point is?

It’s a forgone conclusion Valimaki will be turning pro this year.

I wonder if big brother will be in thr stands watching lil brother?
Now back to an important question... Can anyone tell me what the lighting is like at the rink? I'm going to drop by and bring my camera but I won't bother if the lighting sucks like most non NHL rinks

No idea if it sucks for the purposes of photos, but here's a site with an image of the interior.

Thanks. Saw your post and decided to see if I could find other interior photos of the arena on the web. Found this one. Lighting looks ok. Having that big bank of windows on the one side of the arena helps a lot. Will make sure I sit on that side with my back to the windows.
Hope to get some nice pics of the rookies.

That's not the rink Dev Camp skates are usually on, unless it changed this year. Usually it's the Joan Snyder Arena:

Hmmm... that rink's definitely not as good for photography.

D'oh... probably it.

Only time I've been near it was for a kids camp looking after kids so I wasn't paying that close of attention to the ice surface in the end.
Honestly, I played there quite a few times back in the day, but I don’t recall it being as big as Father David Bauer, for example, which I know is Olympic size. I’m sure I’ve just heard people say the main rink is, which would make sense since it’s Team Canada’s.

I’m not 100% sure though.

The flames twitter has a video with Leslie interviewing Conroy about dev camp, sorry, I can't seem to link it to my post.

However Conroy said:

1) Wouldn't be surprised if Valimaki makes the team.
2) Phillips, Dube, Tuulola, Sveningsson, are guys he's excited to watch.
3) Compares Pospisil to Antoine Roussel.

I love Conny, guy will say anything. I always envision Tre pulling his hair out every time Conroy goes on the air.

If Vali makes the team it's over Kulak and Anderrson has to outplay Stone, not difficult for either player as Stone is balls and Vali is probably better than Kulak and has a stupid amount of upside over Kulak.

I think Ollie is the wildcard as I thought he looked the best last pre-season (among the prospects anyway) and should have made the team over Kulak, and subsequently Bart and Stone.

I wonder if we sign that Galajda guy after a year or two more in the NCAA.

He and Parsons could battle it out to be the next guy if Gillies and Rittich don’t pan out.
