Wouldn't be surprised if Q tries out Huberdeau - Barkov - Gusev. Neither Huby nor Sasha play with a ton of speed, and that might help Goose if his skating really is that bad. Huberdeau needs a shake-up anyway. And Verhaeghe proved that he doesn't need Barkov to produce.

Exactly. This season is somewhat smoke and mirrors in terms of their playoff chances. Not only are there some elite teams to face, but they're without Ekblad. It's wishful thinking for Florida to go on a miracle run especially when the core guys don't have the experience of winning a single round.

It's a good building block year for the future but you still want to reward the guys for good play so if you can get people for cheap that's the way to go. Zito knows what's up.
