Eh the staal trade was fine asset management.

Montour was awful asset management BUT by a different front office. And its the sunk cost fallacy if you don't trade montour because of what someone else paid for him years ago. It becomes irrelevant.

Florida is playing in a very difficult division, in terms of the playoffs. A path through the Central likely involves both Carolina and Tampa.

Modest buying with an eye on getting in and seeing what happens is the logical play compared to loading up when they're down their best defenseman.
