Ferland makes sense, as he has a expiring contract. Hamilton on the other hand...oof.

Canes don't necessarily want to move Dougie. We just desperately have to ship out a RHD for a forward, and it seems no one is biting on Faulk, so it makes sense to at least listen.

It's gonna be pretty disappointing if we end up flipping Ferland for picks though.

Fox is still producing like crazy so he remains a wildcard but that trade. Oof. How many times does a team walk away with the top 2 players in a 5 person trade after a year?

So basically if a team gives proper value for Hamilton, we’d consider moving him. IDK how anyone could possibly come out of that and think he’s on the block.

Ferland is an easy trade if we can’t re-sign. Should get a decent haul.

I mean they just acquired him, so if their willing to move him already, it makes you scratch your head as to why

Perhaps not in this case. It may be as simple as trying to maximize the quality of the forward returned in a trade for a RHD. Carolina would be fine moving forward with Pesce, a revitalized Faulk, van Riemsdyk, McKeown and hopefully Fox (a trade gives him a clearer pathway to the NHL.)
