Hockey reference lists 21 players that share my birthday, none even close to PPG. Strangely enough only one of those players even has a positive +/-

They'll have to shoot against Dominik Hasek. :skeptic:

Yes but a save % of 40%??? The worst goalie in the NHL last year had a save % higher than 80%.
A 40% save % means that Dryden would only stop 4 out of every 10 shots faced. Impossible.

He played during the 1970s, where goalies were absolute garbage compared to those today.

If he were teleported from 1973 to 2019s NHL, he would be totally embarrassed.

Okaaayyyy.
Obviously you're someone who never watched him play so I'm not going to waste a single iota of my time trying to convince you of Ken Dryden's greatness.

Patrick Marleau (career shootout/PS percentage around ~30) vs Crawford (Shootout save percentage is .719, can’t find his penalty shots)

My odds aren’t great

I have seen him and other top-70s goalies play, yes.

He would get lit up like a Christmas tree in today's game.

Hmmmm...

Retired player would be Doug Gilmour
Current player is Michael Sergachev

Goalie was Grant Fuhr.

So Im going Gilmour vs Fuhr.

I think I live to see tomorrow.

Are you seriously trying to make a case for 70s goaltenders standing a snowball's chance in hell, if they played in 2019s NHL!? :)

Are you saying 70s goalie with 70s equipment and style against players today with todays sticks? Or are you saying every goalie from then even if given todays equipment and training would still get embarrassed?

What if the best hockey player born on my birthday is a goalie?

Or a stay at home d-man.
