I won't. I'm dead as a doornail.
No way Stephen Weiss scores on Ken Dryden.

I'm assuming by born on your birthday he means the day but not the actual year too.... ie. April 3 of any year.

Nice clickbait title mate.

Also Nels Stewart (500 something points in 600 something games in the 1930s) against Tim Thomas. I'm probably f***ed.

Born 4th July. High school graduate 1992. Sure think Mike Knuble could score on Tom Barasso. But if not i still hope to live tomorrow.

Egil Kalns (I guess Latvian league+some KHL is better than Division I/II Sweden Kristian Frisk) vs Marc-André Fleury
or if we go just by the day
Michel Goulet/Vincent Lecavalier vs Marc-André Fleury

I'm either very dead or very alive.

Jarome Iginla (if we wanna be more specific about the exact day, then Pierre-Olivier Joseph) vs. Matt Murray.

I'll be fine.

I have a choice between Gordie Howe and Pavel Bure. It's against Giguere.

Interesting choices, especially if it's Conn Smythe Giguere.

Garry galley vs the dominator.... I think I'm dead, although galley does boast a 92% scoring rate on penalty shots. So maybe I do live

I’m pretty sure this is a phishing/social engineering attempt. Now “they” know your birthday. It’s like “What’s your stripper name? Take the street you grew up on plus your mother’s maiden name!”

"Send us your street address, house number, and a full list of your biggest fears and win $5 =D "

If I use the top points producer it would be Stan Smyl vs Tom Barrasso. So, IMHO, it'd be a bit of a dice roll. BUUUUTTT if I got to choose, it'd be Captain Clutch, Mr. 1972, Paul Henderson, things might swing in my favor a little more.

I graduated high school in 2005, so I win unless Stefan is the one taking the shot

I was sooooo excited circa 1998 to learn that Patrik Stefan and I had the same birthday. One year I decided to put his empty net gaffe on my birthday cake. (For those wondering, the other folks on the cake are my friend, Richard Marx, and Orel Hershiser.)

-------------

Sadly it's pretty slim pickings with former players born on September 16th. The other oddity with my birthday is that it's a day after the draft cutoff. So if Patrik Stefan were a day older, he would have been in the 1998 Draft instead of 1999. Similarly if Patrick Marleau were a day younger, he would have had to wait another year. It's fun to think of the butterfly effect.

In recent years, I would have added Anthony Mantha and Brady Tkachuk as my potential shooters against Chris Osgood. I might have a decent chance at seeing tomorrow.

Edit - Small sample size but in terms of shootouts: Osgood (61%, 41/67), Mantha (0%, 0/1), Tkachuk (none, amazingly Ottawa only had one shootout last season)
