This week's Facing Off with Dan Mount revisits the year that was in 2016 and predicts what could be in store for the year to come in 2017. We debate the top headlines from 2016, as well as the most improbable, inspirational and impactful stories. We recollect on that wild day in June (Subban-Weber/Hall-Larsson) and what's become of those trades in the present. We also look ahead to the future stories that will be topping the headlines this year before making three bold predictions for 2017. I follow the KHL from afar, but I'm far from an expert on that league. I'm not even sure topics we could/would/should be tackling. Always open to suggestions, but we might be limited in our knowledge. Our "expertise" tends to be on NHL, AHL and junior hockey.

This week's Facing Off with Andrew Forbes debates trade-deadline acquisitions — who will have the biggest impact on their new team and who will be the biggest disappointment — while also weighing in on whether the NHL has "false parity" because of all the loser points and whether the current playoff format is working. We also looked at the playoff bubble teams and who could be live underdogs in both conferences. Lastly, we gave our two cents on Josh Ho-Sang wearing the No. 66: http://thehockeywriters.com/facing-off-false-parity-live-underdogs/

Believe it or not, Iapyi, you're not the first person to ask me that. Yes, I get it a lot. Maybe one day I'll show up higher in the Google searches than the murderer.

As for more Leafs talk, Rick74, feel free to DM me some topics you'd like us to debate and we'll work them in. Facing Off is in the process of changing formats, moving to individual topics instead of five at a time and tackling the hot topics as they happen. So if you have Leafs topics of interest, fire them my way via DM.
