Power Play opportunities going down along with scoring. I suggest no leaving feet to block shots, full 2 minute power plays no matter what and no icing the puck while on the PK. Some radical changes are needed.
How does a team that has arguably the top goaltender in the game not have a chance, especially after adding Hall. Schneider has a .930 sv%, I think NJ are locks for the playoffs. This week's Facing Off with Dan Mount is full of predictions for the upcoming NHL season, including how many (if any) Canadian teams will make the playoffs in 2017. We ask the same question about the "New" teams — as in Islanders/Rangers/Devils — and look at which teams on the rise could take the biggest leap in the standings. Could the Oilers, Jets, Coyotes, Leafs, Sabres and/or Blue Jackets make the playoffs? Are the Predators playoff locks and legitimate Cup contenders? What's with the lack of goalie movement this offseason and what will end up happening with Ben Bishop and Marc-Andre Fleury? And, lastly, will NHL players be participating at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea? http://thehockeywriters.com/facing-off-predicting-partial-playoff-picture/
The Facing Off team of Daniel Mount, Félix Sicard, Andrew Forbes and Sebastian Hedley-Noble went all out this week, putting together a special predictions edition to preview the NHL season. Who's winning the Stanley Cup? Who's new to the playoffs? Who tops the scoring race? Who's the first coach to get fired? We weigh in on all that and more: http://thehockeywriters.com/facing-off-season-preview-and-predictions/
